Usc big ten2/11/2024 ![]() 30, and will open Big Ten play in Week 3 when it hosts Indiana. UCLA, which traditionally plays a Pac-12 opponent in years where USC finishes with Notre Dame, moved a nonleague game with Fresno State to Nov. Kenny said, "in a perfect world," the Big Ten would love to have USC-UCLA on rivalry weekend, alongside Ohio State-Michigan, Purdue-Indiana, Wisconsin-Minnesota, Iowa-Nebraska and now Oregon-Washington. 23 so that USC can finish its regular season by hosting rival Notre Dame. Washington's first November schedule in the Big Ten includes each of three other West Coast additions plus a Nov. USC will open Big Ten play with Michigan (road), Wisconsin (home), Minnesota (road) and Penn State (home), while Oregon will face both Ohio State (Oct. "We've really found that playing each other more, not less, and doing it as soon as you can, to get these new institutions to play in our historic venues and our current members to play in these new places, that's what helps make a conference become a more cohesive conference right off the bat," Kenny said. Oregon and USC will not play each other in 2024, a decision Kenny said was based on creating a rotation where new members would play existing members "more frequently and sooner." Two Pac-12 rivalry games fall into the protected category - Oregon-Washington and UCLA-USC - and USC and Washington also will meet Nov. 12 and have an open week after the Rutgers game. 31 at Hawai'i, will travel to Penn State on Oct. The four West Coast teams will not play consecutive road games in 2024. "But our job as schedulers are to put as much of the principles into the schedule that we're asked to really manage, and I think we did that, especially on the travel side."Įight teams in the Eastern or Central time zones have open weeks after their only West Coast trips, and the other six have home games. "Obviously, in a schedule with teams that are this competitive and this deep there's always going to be pockets of tough stretches and something that, on paper right now, based on the way teams look, it's always going to make it seem a little bit more difficult or maybe a little easier than it may play out. "The two main components that we were asked to hit were the geographic and travel balance and then also the competitive balance," Kenny said. Both the 20 seasons contain two open weeks per team, which made the scheduling process easier, Big Ten chief operating officer Kerry Kenny told ESPN. The Big Ten also ensured that any team from the Eastern or Central time zone traveling to the West Coast, and any of the four West Coast additions - USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington - traveling east would have either a home game or an open week following the lengthy trips. The league's first schedule with 18 members, each playing nine conference games, was shaped using the Flex Protect XVIII model, which includes 12 annual protected rivalries and a robust rotation to avoid the long gaps between pairings present in other conferences. It's a lot to digest, but I think the conference has the best scheduling setup that we've seen going into the future.USCwill visit Michiganin its first Big Ten conference game, while UCLA will make two cross-country trips and Oregon- Washington will be featured during rivalry weekend of the Big Ten's 2024 football schedule, which the league unveiled Thursday. The remaining 6 conference games are scheduled from there, but this format ensures the conference will have everyone play each other twice every 4 years. Once the 2-year rotation ends, the rotation of home and home changes. Outside of the protected rivalries will be rotational games which will be essentially home and home between 2 teams for that 2-year rotation. Each team BESIDES PENN STATE?!?! has at least one protected rivalry which will be played every single year, such as Ohio State vs Michigan or Wisconsin vs Iowa. The schedule format has 3 slots for each team which will feature protected rivalries and the “plus” piece comes into play with the rotational games. The main goal of the schedule was to get every team to play each other at least twice within 4 years. The new scheduling format for the Big Ten is called “Flex Protect Plus” as named by the conference. ![]() Many traditional big ten fans have questioned whether the league can maintain those matchups we've been used to seeing for years – and now we have the answer. ![]() The Big 10 conference is now set to go coast to coast - adding USC and UCLA in 2024.

Battalion wars 2 game cube2/11/2024 Still, if ever there were a game I could port onto my MacBook Air, it would be this hallowed pew-pew-pew fest from long ago. My Gamecube stopped working over a decade ago, and I never bought the Nintendo Wii, so that means I could never play the sequel, Battalion Wars 2. One of my biggest regrets in life was never putting the nail in the coffin of Kaiser Vlad’s plan for world domination. I’ve never been good at video games, and 12-year-old me was even worse. Unfortunately, it’s also a romp I never finished. (Screenshot via YouTube / Longplay Archive) It’s a romp that grows ever more challenging as you push deeper into the villains’ homeland. Along the way, they have to seize beachheads, capture forts, and bomb gas wells in the desert. In a world-spanning campaign through deserts, forests, and island beaches, the allies drive the crafty Xylvanians back into their spooky native soil. Soon, however, the two nations and their Japan-like ally, the Solar Empire, must team up against the Nazi-esque Xylvania and their plan for world domination. The game starts in the middle of a cold war between the star-spangled Western Frontier and its Russia-like rival, the Tundran Territories. The game takes place in a fictional universe, but there are plenty of similarities between Battalion Wars and real-world conflicts. Enhancing that cartoon feel is a colorful cast of commanding officers, including a beard-stroking Tsar Gorgi, a monocle-wearing Kaiser Vlad, and a plaid-suited General Herman who I think bears a slight resemblance to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. ![]() Battalion Wars chucks that out the window in favor of a bouncy, cartoon mood that never takes itself too seriously. Most shooters I know of aim for a gritty, realistic feel in their look and storytelling. Would you fight these men? That’s right, I didn’t think so.īesides the unique gameplay, what sets Battalion Wars apart is its art style. However, I’ve yet to meet anyone quite like the luchador mask-wearing flamethrower troops of the Western Frontier. I like to think it was preparation for my current job, where I get to report on all the unique, essential aspects of the U.S. Beyond the rock-paper-scissors of infantry, tanks, and airpower, players must also balance the unique strengths and weaknesses of anti-aircraft missiles, mortars and transport helicopters. (Screenshot via YouTube / LongplayArchive)īattalion Wars also featured a nice variety of units to command. It may look rough now, but believe me, commanding jets, tanks and more was a beautiful experience. That was a challenge I’ve come to miss over the many Halo turkey shoots or Dawn of War II tactical battles I’ve played since then (though Star Wars: Republic Commando came pretty darn close). It was a cool blend of shoot-‘em-up and strategy that I loved because I had to both think and fight at the same time in order to win the battle and keep my men alive. VIDEO: ‘Squad’ may be the best tactical first-person shooter out there What made the game unique was that players not only commanded infantry, tanks, and jets, they could also hop into the point-of-view of their soldiers to carry out their orders personally. What was Battalion Wars, you ask? It was a third-person shooter/real-time strategy hybrid made exclusively for the Nintendo Gamecube (yes we’re going that far back). ![]() No matter how many Halo, Call of Duty, and Star Wars: Battlefront games come out, they’ll never hold a candle to the 2005 cartoon shooter-strategy game Battalion Wars. When it comes to video games, I peaked 15 years ago.

Aws outbound data transfer pricing2/11/2024 Microsoft Azure and AWS both take the stance that data transfer within the same availability zone is free (for example UK West), although from July 2022 Microsoft Azure is making one change that will apply charges. The result is that data from each of these regions need to be transferred to cater for backups, snapshots and disaster recovery.īusinesses considering this type of topology, therefore, need to take into consideration the charges for both data egress out of the public provider's network and also any data that traverses from one data centre location to another between defined Geo’s or regions. Today businesses tend to have data and compute operations in multiple regions or have elected to deploy geo-redundant footprints within AWS and Azure. The public cloud providers have been the natural go-to for this type of deployment as they have footprints in all the major places organisations want to do business. Moving data out of an organisations cloud storage will attract the standard data egress charges as discussed above, but the direction of travel for business is more global and resilience needs to be considered. The pricing table below is not based on using any of these benefits and is priced in GBP and are guide prices.ĭata Egress Cloud Transfer between Regions and Availability Zones Once passed the 100TB mark the providers differ whereas AWS then has greater than 150Tb/Month pricing whilst Azure has another layer of Next 350TB per month.Īzure provide businesses with the first 5Gb/month of data free from any region, whilst AWS offer a free 15GBs of data transfer from their AWS Free Usage Tier available across all regions for 1 year after which you get 1Gb data egress free per month per region. Both follow the same structure of First 10Tb/ per month, Next 40TB/Month, Next 100Tb/Month. For our worked example below, we are going to apply a pricing table based on using the cloud providers backbone network rather than routed through a transit ISP.īoth Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services provide egress packages for data with applicable per Gb rates, such that the more volume consumed the price point reduces. ![]() The easier of the data egress cloud costs models to understand is Internet egress charges, whereby per Gb charges apply in data being transferred out from the public cloud provider storage to the public internet. Similar pricing structures apply for other regions but will vary in costs per Gb transferred.ĭata Egress Cloud Charges – Internet Egress, Data Transfer Out The charges for data transfer begin to take effect as data traverses across the cloud providers global network, as it consumes their infrastructure such as dark fibre and connectivity between regions, continents and/or availability zones.įor the purposes of this blog, we are going to set some perquisites whereby the cloud platform in question is based within Europe and that the pricing evaluation will be based on transfers between other regions or to the public internet. This can in fact help to overcome any initial financial hurdles when migrating to a cloud service, particularly if the business has accumulated a large amount of data and require a large storage requirement when migrating.
